Waste-to-Fuel


Waste-to-Energy

  • Using the same configuration as for Waste-to-Fuel the system can be configured to generate electricity instead of fuel. Instead of therefore using the fuel as a commodity the GTL phase is isolated and the gas is used to generate electricity. Subject to the type of Waste Stream used between 1.6 MW and 3 MW of electricity can be generated. 
  • The same byproducts are generated.

Product Quality

Fuel Oils

  • Fuel Oils has a sulphur content of between 55 ppm and 600ppm 
  • Cetanes in the fuel oils range between 35 and 52
  • Carbon Black particle size and molecular structure is within the N330 range, however reducing the ash content needs further refinement

Product & By-product Yield

Yields are subject to the feedstock (waste stream) and feedstock quality provided to the system. During the commissioning phase of our systems the system is calibrated with the specific feedstock that will be used by the client. The calibration target yields which have been achieved during development testing are as follows:

OTR WASTE TYRES:

  • Fuel Oils yields from OTR Mining Waste Tyres are approximately 45% and 30%
  • Carbon Char with a +78% Carbon Content

HIGH QUALITY PLASTIC WASTE:

These are typically found in high end applications such as the medical industry

  • Fuel Oils yields from Medical Waste are approximately 65% to 70%
  • Approximately 15%-20% glass recovery
  • Approximately 10% Carbon Char

eWASTE MIX:

This waste stream is typically derived from recycling operations such as scrap vehicles, white goods, computers and similar end of life products. 

  • Fuel Oils yields from Medical Waste are approximately 60% to 68%
  • Approximately 5% glass recovery
  • Approximately 5% steel recovery
  • Approximately 15% Carbon Char
